How It Began
Our Story
While working on our educational initiative Pratibimb, we uncovered a harsh reality — even in the 21st century, menstruation is still surrounded by silence, myths, and taboos.
In many underprivileged communities, young girls hesitated to even utter the word "periods." Their discomfort and fear were visible. Our volunteers decided not just to educate but to listen — to create a safe space where these young voices could finally open up.
Slowly, the hesitation gave way to trust, and conversations about menstrual hygiene, self-care, and dignity began to flow. This powerful experience gave birth to SOCH — a movement of change.
Through SOCH, we:
- Break myths and taboos about menstruation
- Educate girls on menstrual health and hygiene
- Teach the importance of good touch & bad touch for safety
- Distribute sanitary pads while teaching correct usage & safe disposal
- Encourage young girls to be self-dependent and confident
For us, SOCH is not just about hygiene — it is about empowerment, dignity, and freedom. We dream of a society where every girl can embrace her period with pride, without shame.
SOCH is more than a program; it's a thought, a conversation, and a revolution.
